Infertility is a condition, where the inability to achieve pregnancy resulting in live birth after at least one year of unprotected intercourse has been detected. And it is a reason to seek professional help, not a terminal diagnosis.

Infertility problem in a couple may be defined by male or female factors, and quire often – both. Therefore it is essential that both parties in the couple are examined properly. This is important to avoid situations when the treatment completed by the wife, for example, turns out to be in vain and does not result in pregnancy, because the dysfunction on her side was only part of the problem. Another important issue is the schedule of initial test and the treatment itself. Because different stages of infertility treatment are always based on certain cycle days, it is crucial to follow these timing demands and not try to protract it (by taking a pause before test or dividing the plan into parts). Any change in timing reduces your chance of comprehensive diagnosis and successful conception.

Full treatment course usually takes 2 to 3 months to complete.

After the patients have completed their fertility survey plan, the doctors would define the final diagnosis, specifying all possible infertility causes, and advise on your individual treatment plan. This plan is comprised of different aspects all aimed at creating the conditions for the soonest conception possible. Whenever the survey results show that natural conception is not an option, you will be offered one of the few methods of Assisted Reproductive Techniques, most suitable for your condition. These include IFV or Intrauterine (Artificial) Insemination, which allow the patients with inability to conceive independently still have genetically their own child or children.

IVF is one of modern Assisted Reproductive Techniques methods. In this process, a female egg (oocyte) is fertilized by male cells (spermatozoids) outside the body (in vitro). The consumption then takes place in a special lab tube. The embryos, received as the result of it, are then implanted into the mother’s uterine to continue developing as normal. IVF has been developed to make it possible for patients with fertility dysfunctions and inability to conceive naturally to still be able to give birth.

It has been proven over the years of applying IVF that it is especially effective if the following cases:

  • Ovulation disorders;
  • Ovarian failure;
  • Fallopian tubes defects;
  • Endometriosis;
  • Cervical disfunctions;
  • Unexplained (idiopathic) infertility;
  • Infertility caused by male factors.

If you are facing infertility problems and seek ways to overcome it, do not hesitate to contact MAMA Clinic for professional and highly qualified help. Our reproductive therapists have immense experience in the field. We care for you child to be born just as much as you do.

Below is the list of medical services provided by MAMA Clinic as ways to overcome fertility problems and brief explanations as per what they are and how they work.

1. Intrauterine (Artificial) Insemination (IUI) is a method of Assisted Reproductive Techniques, where particularly prepared human sperm is delivered directly into female uterus. Thus the natural process of conception and developing of fetus is launched and from this moment on it goes on as normal. IUI is usually recommended in cases of fallopian tubes blockage, given that the male sperm in the couple has high fertility marks.

IUI can be performed with the sperm of the male in the couple as well as donor cells (in cases of low sperm fertility marks, or single mother, etc.).

IUI method does not apply when fallopian tubes are obstructed or coiled, according to HSG results. These cases are more likely to be treated via IFV.

2. Ovulation Induction (Strict Ovulation Induction) is the stimulation of ovulation by medication used in cases of anovulation, also used for triggering oocyte release from relatively mature ovarian follicles and further maintenance of yellow tissue. It is performed with direct or indirect inductors.

3. Micro-TESE (Testicular Sperm Extraction) is the Testicular biopsy performed under microscope, which allows to retrieve sperm cells from the patient’s tissue. It gives the fertility specialist a chance to identify and retrieve the alive spermatozoids, eligible for transfer and further consumption. The fertility therapist is working alongside with the surgeon to perform the selection without any delay. Micro-TESE is the most suitable solution for patients with:

  1. Kleinfelter syndrome
  2. Secretory forms of azoospermia (lack of sperm in semen)
  3. Cryptorchidism in patient’s medical history

Standard testicular biopsy (TESE) and puncture biopsy of epoophoron (MESE) allow to retrieve perspective sperm cells from tissue when treating patients with:

  1. Obstructive azoospermia
  2. Anejaculation (inability to ejaculate)
  3. Retrograde ejaculation (severe forms)

Post-treatment care

Consumption is an aim, which is crucial at the moment, but serves as an intermediate one in longer terms, because it is meant to lead to a larger one – the childbirth. Taking this into consideration, and sharing our patients’ yearning, at MAMA Clinic we follow up with the couples who had conceived during the pregnancy. These follow-up consultations are included in your MAMA Clinic treatment plan and are more detailed during the first 3 to 4 weeks. Once the pregnancy is passed that first and most fragile period, our patients can be cared for completely by regular obstetrics gynecologist, with no special qualification regarding infertility treatments. However, should the need arise, our therapists will be glad to consult your prenatal care specialist during the whole pregnancy.
